Nick Taylor
Nick Taylor is the Senior Vice President, Technical Services for Cloud Peak Energy, with responsibilities in strategic and long term mine planning, geological services, land management, environmental affairs, project management and business improvement.
Mr. Taylor graduated from the University of Wales with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering. He worked nearly a decade in various Copper and Uranium mining operations in Africa and Papua New Guinea, principally for Rio Tinto (RTZ). Following a two year assignment at a greenfield coal project in Queensland, Mr. Taylor spent a further 10 years in mining consultancy roles, rejoining Rio Tinto (then Minenco) in 1992 as a global open pit mining advisor in the Technical Services group, specializing in greenfield project development and mine planning.
Mr. Taylor moved to Rio Tinto Energy America in 2005 as Vice President of Technical Services & Business Improvement.
